Mask buds and upper leaves that stick above background

Start at one side and put a wet wash in watching that your edges don't dry. Vary the color from brownish green to ochre to simulate early spring lawn,

First wash on table

First was on pots

First wash on flower and leaf.

Reference painting for detail of flowers and leaves.

Second layer on table with blue gray to tone down reds.
Second layer on pots to ad shading on right side and then I begun to develop flowers and leaves.

I darkened bottom left of background to see how I liked it for contrast. I do but you do not need to go that dark. It is a personal preference. Began to add more plant foliage.

Added more warmth to background to add depth....still working it. Added masking fluid veins on leaves and started to add more shadows and depth to leaves and flowers.
