, drawing with masking fluid remember to keep Lines light and distant hill sky is pale purple and pink mix on top pull down with clear water and then pale yellow laid in to bottom of sky . First I put in a light purple blue wash on distant hill making sure the top edge is jagged implying small tree tops ,then I put first layer of green on hill, to allow hill to dry. I then mixed a darker purple blue wash for the next hill , again making the top edge jagged . While it is still damp I dropped clear water droplets into color to separate and then added a yellow green into the light spots to imply distant new spring
next I mixed a grey for the rocks with cerulean blue and burnt sienna and palate tone :), covering the whole stone wall with a wash. I then put clear water droplets on the top edge of rocks to create the illusion of form and texture . you can add kosher salt here if you want.
next I added the evergreens behind the wall with a dry brush technique working from the base of the tree upwords .
here I mix the dark with alizarin crimson and Windsor green to add the cracks in between the rocks using clear water to pull out and soften the interior edges.
, here continued to add the cracks in between the rocks and then developed the texture on the rocks using kosher salt dry brush sponge with a grey green for the lichen and moss. Here I added a second layer of green to the middle ground hill so that the rocks would become more vibrant and light I also added a second layer of masking fluid to the foreground leaves and then put the second layer of darker burnt sienna mixture as a wash on top of leaves to create the overlapping feeling of piled up leaves.....HAVE FUN!!!
