I have come up with a fee for part time status for my returning students who know in advance that they need to miss certain classes.  I understand everyone has busy lives and at the same time love having your continued involvement in my classes. I feel this schedule is fair for all.

8 classes = $240.00
 7 classes = $240.00

6 classes = $200.00

5 classes = $ 175.00

4 classes = $ 150.00

3 classes = $120.00

2 classes = $100.00

1 class= $50.00

SUPPLY LIST for Watercolor classes

This is a complete list for folks who have nothing. If you have your own supplies already just fill in what you don’t have. Don’t worry about exact brushes and colors if you have others. You can wait until first demo to see what you need.

Palette: John Pike or Broadway Palette, Masterson palette( have this at Dick Blick)

    (Robert E. Wood and Tom Lynch are very shiny, paint repels, so not as preferable works but takes awhile to condition)

Paints: Student grade - Windsor & Newton Cotman Watercolors,

                        Grumbacher or Liquitex

        Artist grade - Windsor & Newton Finest Watercolor

        Alizarin Crimson          Windsor Green (Thalo Green)           Permanent Rose

        Ultramarine Blue         Cadmium Red

        Burnt Sienna               Cadmium Orange

        Cerulean Blue             Cadmium Yellow

        Violet                            Windsor Yellow

        Yellow Ochre               Chinese White (optional)

       

Brushes: Preferably natural bristle, sizes vary from brand to brand, so numbers don't mean much. Choose from these price levels:

* 3 Watercolor Rounds: 1 # 3-5, 1 # 6-8 and 1 # 10-15

                       Kolinsky Sable rounds are the best and most expensive.

                       Windsor & Newton Series #7 is one of the best.

                       Raphael and Isabey also make fine Kolinsky sable brushes as well as Dick Blick.

                              Davinci sable set on amazon often  bargin!

               Windsor & Newton make some less expensive rounds:

There are SO many and series change all the time. I usually have some available for sale.

                Sceptre 101 (a combination natural and synthetic brush)

              Series 133 and 707 are both fine red sable brushes.

Watercolor sable by Winsor and Newton # 5067007, 2 and 6 or close would be good, dick blick online only

     * Squirrel mops are my favorite wash brushes.

        Isabey series 6234 is great (#3 0r #4)

             (any soft wash brush will do fine.)

     * Watercolor Flats: ¼”, ½” and/or 1”

                            (Depending upon how big you work)

     * Rigging or long liner: a slender, long bristled brush

                               great for grasses branches etc.

Jar of Masking fluid: Windsor & Newton Colourless or slightly pigmented

                      

Masking Fluid brush: Any cheap student grade watercolor brush.

                Should point but doesn't have to be very big.

                Synthetic brushes work well here.( Ocean state Job lot has great sets)

Small bar of soap

Water Sprayer

Watercolor sponge: sea wool is best for textural tool (big holes)

Rubber cement pick up: to remove masking fluid

Small jar (for Kosher salt)

Firm toothbrush: to remove dried masking fluid from brush and for splattering

Drawing pencil: 2H or mechanical pencil

kneaded eraser,

 white Artist’s tape (to mount paper on board)

Cardbord or foam core to mount paper on

Note pad for taking notes

***Watercolor paper: D'Arches 140 lb. cold press, comes in 22 x 30 sheets( I always have available for $5.00 per sheet, buy 2 to start will give you 8 paintings)
